Mayday – Popular band in Taiwan

MayDay “五月天” (Wǔyuètiān) is a famous Taiwanese band consists of five members, Ashin, Monster, Stone, Masa, and Guan You. MayDay made their debut in 1999 and has abundant of albums, four best hit albums, and concert albums, all of which sold in impressive numbers including the sales into China and Japan, and other countries.

MayDay is well-known for their songs mainly composed and played by themselves. They also won multiple awards including Golden Melody Awards (GMA) for Best Musical Group. Not only Mandarin, MayDay’s songs in Taiwanese language are also popular. They’ve also go on the world tour and was interviewed in BBC “Impact.” Their history toward awesomeness is too long, so I’m going to conclude here and talk about the song for today.

About Mandarin song “Step by Step” by Mayday

The song “Step by Step” (步步, Bù bù) celebrates MayDay’s 15th year anniversary in 2013.  It was composed by Ashin and Cola Kai and is the theme song of famous Chinese historical fiction drama “Scarlet Heart 2” (步步惊情, Bù bù jīng qíng).  The official music video was shot worldwide cities in New York, Tokyo, London, Shanghai, Paris, etc. You can even see the coordinates in the video showing the location.
