Sun Yan Zi is also known as Sng Ee Tze, Stefanie Sun, is both a singer and a songwriter. She is known as the Singaporean Mandopop queen. Stefanie, the award-winning singer, based her career in Taiwan and has sold over 30 million copies of her albums thus far. Moreover, her popularity extends to China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and her native Singapore.
The song is about how grandmother’s song accompanied her through life. She used to be silly and naughty when she’s little, and her grandma would always sing to her to calm her. After growing up, having her own life. She feels like the world isn’t the world she used to dream of. In contrast, the world is hard and cruel. That’s when she remember the song grandma used to sing to her in summer afternoons. “The sky is dark, it’s about to rain” (it’s a Chinese dialect, also known as Taiwanese or Haka).
